Broadmeadows Farmhouse B&B

A Bed and Breakfast in Scottish Borders

Photo - Broadmeadows Farmhouse B&B

From Selkirk (A708 Moffat, St.Mary's Loch road) Third turning right from the main road after crossing the Yarrow Water bridge:

14 acres of private woodland, paddocks and garden surround Broadmeadows Farmhouse which sits along the Southern Upland Way (Broadmeadows to Yair/Traquair section) with Galashiels, Melrose, Hawick, Peebles, Kelso and Lauder close by.

We have two double/family sized guest rooms on separate wings of the house (affording great privacy) with TV, wifi, fridge and tea/coffee facilities. Both bedrooms have sitting areas and private bathrooms immediately next door in which dressing gowns are provided. Downstairs enjoy the elegant dining room, sitting room and large cloakroom/boot room with a sumptuous rain shower. Our full Scottish breakfasts are a hearty affair and packed lunches are available with prior notice.

The Scottish Borders offer so much for visitors, take a day trip to Edinburgh the Scottish Capital by train from Galashiels or head across the border to Newcastle by car for an equally desirable and easy days excursion. We are close to Abbotsford House, Bowhill Estate, Traquair House and Floors Castle (check their web pages for opening times). Pamper your self with a day's spa experience at Stobo Castle. Enjoy the endless choice of first class restaurants and coffee shops and browse the boutiques, craft and antique shops locally. The Common Rides, Kelso races and Melrose rugby 7s are a must.

Sadly we can not accommodate small children under 5 years of age or pets.

The Private House Stay's Guide

Scottish Borders

This is a region which is drenched in the blood of countless battles with the English, and its many ruined castles and abbeys bear witness to this. It also has inspired the country's greatest poets and writers such as Robert Burns, John Buchan and Sir Walter Scott. The wildest and most spectacular scenery is to be found in the southern part of the region, but it is along the central valley of the River Tweed, between Peebles in the west and Kelso in the east, where you'll find most of the historic attractions. The hill walking and spa-town atmosphere of Peebles is recommended.
